Pursuant to Senate Bill 1011, Section 3, signed by the governor on July 13, 2009, establishing the federal sex offender registration notification act study committee, the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court is authorized to appoint: (1) a designee, (2) two chief probation officers, one of whom is assigned to an adult probation department and one of whom is assigned to a juvenile probation department of the superior court and (3) one representative of the administrative office of the courts who has expertise with the provision of probation services.
Section 3 requires that “On or before December 31, 2009, the study committee shall submit a report regarding its findings to the governor, the speaker of the house of representatives and the president of the senate and shall provide a copy of the report to the secretary of state and the director of the Arizona state library, archives and public records.” Section 3 has a delayed repeal date of December 31, 2010.
Now, therefore, pursuant to Article VI, Section 3, of the Arizona Constitution,
IT IS ORDERED that the individuals named below are appointed to serve as members of the Federal Sex Offender Registration Notification Act Study Committee beginning upon entry of this Order and ending December 31, 2010.
